Gifts in Wills

Leaving a legacy that protects and nurtures generations to come.

A bequest is an investment in Servants’ sustainable, compassionate work, building homes and relationships with our community’s most vulnerable.

Why leave a charity bequest in your Will?

Including a gift for Servants Community Housing in your Will is a powerful way to support our community’s most vulnerable. Gifts like yours not only build homes, but also enable us to create safe, inclusive and compassionate communities where people who have experienced trauma and isolation can truly reach their potential.
This impact doesn’t stop at the resident. It’s common sense that access to a safe home and loving community reduces hospitalisations, decreases the burden on homelessness services, and allows people to stop the generational impact of poverty.
What’s more, your gift enables residents to thrive, making a positive impact in their community – just like Fiona.

After experiencing violence, witnessing multiple fires and men sneaking into girls’ rooms, Fiona had had enough of being taken advantage of. Affordable rentals were scarce, and Fiona had a limited education. Life was tough – until she found Servants.

Servants’ Carrical House in Hawthorn was the perfect safe place to call home. With her own self- contained unit, a lockable door, and a loving community around her, Fiona could rest, recover, and begin to contribute to her community.

“This place is home. This family of people taught me how to feel safe.”

After moving in, it didn’t take Fiona long to start helping people herself. She began connecting with fellow residents, and established friendships in the wider community.

When Baden, an elderly neighbour, became ill, Fiona took it upon herself to unite residents together and nurse him. When he eventually passed away in hospital, he could reflect on Fiona’s care and know he was well-loved.
