The Servants Community Housing Blog

Welcome to Servants Community Housing
Servants Community Housing has been operating affordable accommodation and safe housing for those on low incomes for over thirty years in Hawthorn, and more recently in Kew.
Our passion is built around offering a structure in which vulnerable people—many of whom suffer from long-term mental illnesses—can live in relative comfort.
All too often we find our residents have been given little dignity or respect in their lives prior to being housed by Servants Community Housing. Perhaps they have been homeless. They may have left a psychatric ward for the first time. Or experienced a relationship breakdown or loss of employment. Maybe struggled with substance issues...
Servants Community Housing makes a difference
Residents find a safe and secure place with Servants and tend to stay with us for many years. Residents enjoy a strong connectedness and sense of community. This is because our model of housing is breathtakingly simple, founded on the belief that each and every individual is worthwhile.
More people are experiencing homelessness in Victoria than ever before
24,817 Victorians were homeless on Census night in 2016. That’s 21% of the Australian homeless population. Every day, 99 people are turned away from homelessness services due to a lack of housing and resources (ABS, 2016). Help Servants make a difference and be part of the solution to homelessness.
Servants Community Housing is a Registered Housing Provider in Victoria under the Housing Act 1983 (Vic).
Please join us on the journey as we seek to offer respect, dignity and hope to some of the most vulnerable members of our society.
